a few new firsts

Last week we had a play date with a friend and went to the zoo. Kamalee like the goats best. They jumped up on the fence so she could actually see them. That caught her eye and she sat right up and tried to get them. The little fellow is Wyatt! She really enjoyed watching him run around.

First sunglasses. We had to try them on in the store to get a good fit. Still a little big but way cute!

I found some sandals at the children's store brand new for $1. She doesn't have very many sandals that fit. These were so stinkin cute I couldn't resist. Had to go to some garage sales on friday even to get some red clothes to match :)

Ice cream cone!!!! She has had ice cream before but never the cone. At first we kept telling her "no, no...don't touch just lick". So when we were going to let her hold and eat the cone she hesitated and when took hold she clenched it TIGHT! LOL!

Kamalee had a follow up appointment with her heart doctor today. She is at 16 lbs. 1 oz. and 26 inches long. He said that everything looks very well. He did say there was a small amount of leakage. However, this seems to be very normal. He told me in all the years he has worked with these kids, he has only seen 1 that didn't have any leakage. The surgeon had said something to us that she may need another surgery some day down the road so I asked today about that. Our heart doctor said that 1 of 2 things may happen to require a fix. First, that leakage could get worse and need to be repaired. Or tissue could build up under the aorta valve and that would need to be removed. (He said he didn't see any of that right now) As for the leakage he thinks that if she needs a repair it will be in the next 2 to 3 years, but he said he is very hopeful that she will not need another surgery. We are praying she won't need another also!
