where did it go? I am done?

A couple of weeks ago Kamalee had her 6 month appointment and we started her on baby food! Then, she was 14 lbs, 5.5 oz and 25" long. That was almost a month ago now so I am sure she is well passed the 15 lb mark. My growin' girl!!!

I knew this girl liked to eat, but my goodness. She attacked the baby food. She has loved everything so far, but green beans. She must not like the grainy feeling but that's pretty good. She basically eats everything and we are now on to 2 jars a day plus cereal at night. Which is great because we got rid of 3 bottles a day. That should save a little on formula. She even had mashed potatoes, couple baked beans and mashed bananas off the table. I can tell she is going to love table food!!!!

Still Here!

We are still here! And we are all fine. My computer just decided to take a vacation for awhile. We were told the hard drive went out of it but it is back up and running, for now. We are going to get a new one this week. But since I have it back for a minute I thought I would let you all know what we have been up to. There is a lot that has happened but the most accessible pictures I have right now our these: Our trip to the Sertoma Butterfly house. Last Sunday, we went with Donna and her family. Luckily for her, it was a rainy cloudy day so the butterflies weren't sworming everywhere. Donna and Katelyn were a bit skiddish about things flying around them. They say there is many more flying about when the sun is out. Kami wore her sun outfit hoping to catch some. One did land on me and they got to see it up close and personal. Kamalee gladly would have tasted one, if we would have let her! :)

Falsely Accused

We have often been accused of lying when we say Kamalee does smile at us! While she isn't the most smiley baby...she does have them and they are beautiful. Since the surgery, her smile scale has even moved up. She may have been at a 2 but she is definitely now at a 6! I love it. These were taken last week. We got home and she just wouldn't quit. It was the first time we were actually able to get smiles and have time to snap some pictures!

Family Essence

I have been meaning to get pictures of our family since Kamalee was born...6 months isn't too bad, huh? Better than the scrapbook I am supposed to be making...that hasn't even got started. Michelle, you better get home soon or Kamalee will be 5 before I start! :)

I had so much fun photographing Justin and Kamalee. It was right after we got home from surgery so Kami wasn't in the greatest mood, but who could blame her?!

Then came my turn. I think I spent more time instructing my husband how to shoot the picture than actually just relaxing for the picture! As he states "I couldn't be a photographer"...I am thinking, well at least I feel like I know what I am doing now. Good to know he couldn't just point and shoot :) Everything was set up for him and that's all he had to do...we did end up getting some good ones, but only after a few laughs. He just wasn't quite ready for the speed of a professional camera!

Our sister in law, Jodi, snapped a few family portraits. THANKS Jodi! She did a little better than my husband ;) but Kamalee was tired and we had quite a few tears.

Cowgirl Kamalee

The day before we left for surgery I must have thought I wasn't busy enough, so I decided to take Kamalee's six months pictures. I am glad I did though because she was much easier to handle then. For trying to hold her, model her and take the picture by myself...she did very well. Our little princess has turned country!

Thank you Aunt Donna for the cute cowgirl hat and boots. Can't wait for the rodeo!

Cousin and Doctors

Aunt Jodi, Unlce David and Cousin Kaelyn came to visit when we got home from surgery. This is Justin and Kamalee and his brother David and his daughter Kaelyn. (The girls are about 7 months apart)

Kamalee visited the cardiologist for an after-surgery check up on Friday. He said everything looks and sounds great! He said you can barely hear the murmur. Which I guess is good. He said it means it was a nice repair. YAHOO! My sister in law, Jodi, rode with us to Sioux Falls and we did a little shopping afterwards so it was a pretty good day. Poor Kaelyn was tuckered out from the shopping and passed out in the stroller. She didn't look very comfy but neglected to lay back.



On Monday, Kamalee had her 6 month well baby appointment and everything is good there as well. Her doctor is so impressed with how well she is doing from surgery and just in general. She is up to 14 lbs. 5.5 oz. and is 25" long! She is still hanging tough in the 50th percentile for her weight! Go girl! And has really sprouted in the past couple of weeks. When we left for surgery she could still wear her 0-3 clothes. Now it seems like her 6 month clothes are getting too small. I guess that means more shopping!!

Puppy Tales VI

Kamalee turned 6 months yesterday! We got out of the hospital just in time to spend the day together as a family. She got a new bookshelf for her room!!! Here is her puppy pictures for 6 months. Had to show that this was the time she had surgery and let everyone see her battle wounds!

We are home!!! and so happy to be. We are starting to get settled back in. Kamalee has done pretty good since we got home. Other than a little fussiness and waking up in the night, she is great. I think it is going to take a little time to feel secure and safe again...but who blames her!?!

Another day

Yesterday afternoon, Kamalee started throwing up her milk. We couldn't get her to keep her feeds down. But the nurse assured us it was very normal. Because of it they had an IV in all night to make sure she didn't get dehydrated. Then this morning we took it off and started feeds again. She took a few ounces of pedialite and kept that in. Now she has eaten 3 full bottles of formula and kept them all down. She has been really great today and acting like her normal spunky little self. At her next feed we are even going to try cereal again. Hopefully, cardiology will let us know in the morning when she can go home. It could be tomorrow but if not, then Tuesday. We will be very glad to be home!
