Momma and Kamalee, her first boat ride

Amy and Kaelyn, don't you just love her hat?!!

Our Family
If you didn't notice, Justin and I had just got done being thrown about and off of the tube. We had a great time, but my hair could have used a little help :)

Splish Splashin' and Pat-a-cakin'

As some of you might know...pat-a-cake is a prettybig deal in our house! Kamalee loves the little game, but only wants to play if she can play with your hands. Well...she finally got it! She has been doing pat-a-cake by herself!!!! This is a big accomplishment since everyone she meets tries to make her do it on her on. Only thing is, she usually does it when she thinks nobody is watching :o) She also discovered how to splash. I mean really splash. She has always enjoyed the water and would put her hands in and out. But watch the video and you will see her new enjoyment!!

p.s. Sorry about the video crookedness. The 'unnamed' person holding Kamalee didn't want to be in the video :)

In a tight spot

We have been working so hard at helping Kamalee learn to crawl and I think she is protesting! She does great on her hands and knees and wants to move so bad. She just can't seem to get the hands and knees to move at the same time. That timing thing is a little tricky. Now that we have overworked her...she seems to have found her own way of movement out of protest that she is not going to crawl on our terms! :o) We now find her rolling and rolling ......and stuck. In the funniest places. Yesterday she made a whole circle around the room until she pinned herself between the coffee table and couch. I went to her rescue and asked what she was doing. Her response: a HUGE grin! What? Did I do something wrong???

Lucy, you got some 'splainin to do!

Ok so I haven't been so faithful to my blog lately...which I have been so nicely told about :o) Last week we camped all week with my sister Donna. Then we spent the fourth with Justin's family boating and tubing and Sunday with my family jetskiing and kneeboarding.
We also attended Kamalee's first rodeo at Crystal Springs in Clear Lake. She was the cutest little cowgirl! She did very good considering it got pretty windy and chilly that evening. She slept for about an hour of it but was sure not to miss the bull riding!

Here are a few pictures from quite awhile ago. My cousin Kristi came from SC with her daughter, Avery. She is 2 and also has DS. It was really great seeing them. We also enjoyed seeing the progress Avery has made since the last time we have seen her. She was using her signs that we have been using to Kamalee. It was reassuring to see her using the signs to know Kamalee will get there someday! Avery and Kamalee playing....

Tonight, Justin let Kamalee attempt to feed herself with a spoon. She did make it to her mouth with the spoon. The food just didn't always make it there :o) .....

Daddy's little helper! Kamalee loves watching you do laundry and vaccuum....

Finally, back about a month ago or so when the 3 of us went to MN for Justin school we made a trip to the Mall of America. My sister, Lisa, flew into Minneapolis the day we went home so when Justin got out of school we picked her up and went to the mall. We ate at Bubba Gump's Shrimp Co. and coldstone. Then, did some shopping. Here is Kamalee with her friends....

Puppy Tales X

WOW! Kamalee turned 10 months last friday, already. I can't believe we are going to celebrate her first birthday in less than 2 months! We have had a long and tough 10 months but they also seemed to have gone by so quickly. Here is this months puppy pic....

oh, also her very first pony tail! yay!! (it is kind of hard to see but it is in there)

Sister Reffered

My sister, Donna, started a freelance writing with a company called eXaminer.com and she reffered me to write as well. I have been accepted to write as a Parent of a child with Special Needs. This is an exciting way to share our experiences for other families and to share the difference that I assume 'normal' parents don't go through.

If you are interested, please subscribe to email and add to favorites and I will receive credit for any traffic on my site.

If you or anyone you know may be interested in doing this please let me know. It is available for anyone in the U.S. and they are looking for refferals!

We camped all week last week and enjoyed the weekend. Today has been laundry catch up so I will get some new pictures posted soon!
